  • Production The cooperative of Paterna Societa Agricola is situated in the Arezzo region of eastern Tuscany in the valley of the River Arno, south of Florence. There are 15 hectares in all including 8 ha of vines and 5 ha of olives. The vineyards stand at over 300 metres above sea level on slopes overlooking the Arno River and everything has been organic at the coop since 1985. Winemaking is overseen by Gabriella Tani and Eliabetta Berbieri who employ traditional methods: soft pressing and destemming of the grapes followed by a short fermentation with very low doses of sulphur and the additional of natural yeasts only. This particular Chianti is 90% Sangiovese with the addition of a little Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo.
  • Tasting A vivid cherry-red in colour. Scents of violets and sweet red cherries. On the palate, dry and refreshing with a pronounced acidity. Nicely balanced tannins lead to a lively finish.
